Courses Offered :

The Graduate Certificate in Gender Mainstreaming Policy and Analysis is an 18-unit, full-fee paying course offered by the Centre for Development Studies to Australian and international students.

The course is available via internal(on campus) and/or external (online) modes. The course runs for 1 semester (6 months) full-time or 3 semesters (18 months) part-time.

Course Description :

The Graduate Certificate in Gender Mainstreaming Policy and Analysis is designed to provide students with specialised knowledge related to the integration of gender considerations into policy making, project design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Gender mainstreaming is an international strategy to achieve gender equality in all aspects of society that has been gradually adopted since 1995 by many governments in developing and developed countries, including Australia. This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of gender mainstreaming and gender analysis. It draws on best practice and case studies from around the world. As well, it provides the opportunity to focus on a specific policy area (such as public health, education, economic management, or human resources) or for students to employ this knowledge in their own workplace through an action learning project. The specialised skills the course offers in gender mainstreaming and gender analysis are applicable to public policy environments in Australia and internationally, and in private and non-government sectors.
